Long Time No See

Long Time No See

Hello! I know, it’s been a while. A LONG while.

Not entirely sure where to start so I’ll just jump right in. As many of you will know from my updates (or distinct lack of) on social media, Rosarts has been on an extended hiatus. The reason for this, as you may or not be aware, was a huge technical malfunction that happened last April (2017) which resulted in me having to pretty much close shop overnight.

I can’t even begin to tell you how horrendous that was. To keep things brief, almost my entire product inventory found itself into the wasteland of accidentally-deleted work…and I was left with barely anything left to sell.

Gutted doesn’t even come close.

I cried. Real tears, for days. I’d stockpiled a good three years worth of art and design work into my computer and then suddenly it was just gone. I still don’t know how it happened, but it did, and ever since I’ve had the lid firmly closed on this little part of my world.

For the longest time I couldn’t bring myself to even look at Rosarts, never mind start drawing again. It just seemed like too huge of a mountain to climb. I started a new business, and focused my attention solely into that. It’s going well and I’m still working on it. But I’ve always loved what I started here, and it’s began to niggle away at me more and more of late.

So, with a massive deep breath and a hope for a new dawn, I’m bringing the shop back to life.

It’s going to be slow, make no mistake about it, but I’m going to do it. The vibe of the products is going to be slightly different as well. Lots of people loved the story prints, but they just weren’t ticking over enough to allow me to survive. A girl’s gotta eat, you know?

New directions

So with that in mind, I’ve been doing some research and chatting to lots of people about the kind of things that they’d like to see me create and sell. Funnily enough, quirky and humorous seemed to crop up a lot! So I’m going to give that a go and see how it goes down. I’ll still be rebuilding my stock of decorative and family-themed designs, but I’m going to try out some slightly more grown up stuff too. Let me know what you think about that in the box, it’ll really help me.

After doing a lot of design work with bloggers and brands over the last year or so I’ve decided to explore the digital side of my business a bit further. So along with a new product vibe you’ll also be able to order an array of  design services, for bloggers and businesses. I draw a mean header and I love to create graphics for my own business, so why not offer it up to others too?

I’m also offering Virtual Assistance services as something new for this year – I’ve supported many of my friends with their website layout, design and other fundamentals in their WordPress sites so I’ll be using some of the things I’ve learned to support others who may need it as well.

So – here we are at the start of 2018. I’m going to need your support in getting things back on track, and I really appreciate those of you who’ve stuck with me this far and helped guide me back to the land of Rosarts…there were a few times where I genuinely considered shutting up shop altogether.

Thank you for your patience, and let’s see where this new road takes us!
